Ensuring a skilled workforce for the
emerging renewable energy sector is indispensable for
meeting the challenges of the future and should therefore
be a top priority in national energy policy strategies.
The Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD) at WISE
assumes a strategic role in creating skilled manpower to
cater to the needs of the growing RE industry, gearing up
to meet this objective by engaging in various capacity
building and training activities.
- Conduct long-term academic and short-term
training programmes with the objective of honing skills
and enhancing knowledge of energy industry personnel, energy
sector professionals, etc., about sustainable energy.
- Organise conferences / seminars / brainstorming
sessions that would act as a catalyst in influencing policy
decisions and bring about reform in the energy sector, to
facilitate growth of renewables.
- Conduct in-house training programmes for
WISE personnel so as to enhance capacity building and create
core competencies within the institute.
- The Centre seeks to extend the reach of
its courses to all those who stand to benefit from them such
as professionals in the field of
renewable energy, electricity regulatory commissions, decentralised-power
producers, the media, etc., and thereby emerge as a premier
Centre for Training and Conferences in the energy sector.
