As
part of the consultative and participatory process, WISE organised
three workshops in Patna. The Project Initiation Workshop was held
on 23 February 2011 to present the scope and methodology of the
project in detail. The workshop was inaugurated by Ajay Nayak,
Principal Secretary
(Energy), Govt of Bihar, and was attended by stakeholders from
various departments of the Govt. of Bihar, different agencies of
Govt. of India working on energy issues in Bihar, representatives
from the RE industry, and various NGOs. Professor Sanjeev Ghotge,
Joint Director (Research) and Head, Centre for Climate and
Sustainable Policy, WISE, who led the project, along with other
WISE faculty, presented the scope of the project work and
methodologies to be followed in the respective areas.
Subsequently,
the Draft Presentation Workshop was held on 27 April 2011, where
in the RE Assessment Report and Draft Action Plan was presented to
the concerned stakeholders. The final Feedback Workshop was held
on 20 May 2011. Stakeholders from state and central governments,
the RE industry, and representatives from DFID and Deloitte
provided valuable suggestions, which were subsequently
incorporated in the Final Report.
All the three workshops received overwhelming participation from
the stakeholders, while WISE’s efforts in conducting the study
were highly appreciated.
