The second phase of the training programme on 'Regulatory & Policy
Framework for Market Development for Renewable Energy' (MDRE)
organised by WISE in collaboration with the US Agency for
International Development (USAID),were held recently.
The series of two-day programmes were held under the Distribution,
Reform, Upgrades and Management (DRUM) project sponsored by the
Ministry of Power, and were aimed at helping key stakeholders from
the energy sector understand the policy and regulatory framework,
financial structuring and risk management instruments pertaining
to renewables.
Phase II comprised twelve programmes held in New Delhi, Ahmedabad,
Lucknow, Hyderabad, Udaipur, Pune, Guwahati, Chennai, Chandigarh,
Deharadun, Bhopal, and Kolkatta respectively. The participants
were primarily from the state electricity regulatory commissions,
power distribution utilities, energy development agencies,
equipment manufacturers, project
developers, etc.
