WISE
hosted and organised a stakeholders’ interaction workshop on the
National Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) proposed under the Union
Budget—the revenue for which would be generated via the clean
energy cess of Rs.50 per metric tonne to be levied on coal
produced in India as well as imported. The workshop was held at
the new office premises of WISE on 26 June 2010. G M Pillai,
Director General, WISE, welcomed the august gathering comprising
government representatives and stakeholders from the renewable
energy (RE) industry.
The proceedings of the workshop has been sent to MNRE, Govt. of
India, and the Principal Advisor (Energy) in the Planning
Commission. The same has been acknowledged and appreciated by the
Secretary, MNRE.
