WISE
completed a unique study on 'Functioning / Strengthening of State
Nodal Agencies (SNAs) and preparation of a Roadmap for Capacity
Building for six SNAs' namely, West Bengal, Andra Pradesh,
Chhattisgarh, Puducherry, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.
The
study, jointly funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy
(MNRE) and the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID), was aimed at enhancing the capabilities and functioning
of the SNAs, especially in the wake of renewables going
mainstream. As part of the project, WISE conducted an
interactive training and capacity building programme for senior
officials from the concerned SNAs. The two-day programme
held at the WISE Office on 4-5 may 2010 was aimed at empowering
the SNAs to del with the challenges posted by the latest
developments in the renewable energy sector.
